Job Overview: The Logistics/Admin Manager will be responsible for overseeing the efficient management of logistics, procurement, fleet, assets, facilities, administration, finance, and HR functions at the Adwa base. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with SI procedures and donor requirements while providing timely support to program implementation. The manager will contribute to operational continuity through effective planning, resource management, risk mitigation, and the development of the support team in a complex operational environment. The position requires strong anticipation, problem-solving, and coordination skills to navigate the challenges posed by the operational context, including fuel shortages and market volatility. The manager will also play a key role in consolidating the Adwa base support systems and ensuring compliance with SI standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics/Admin Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Managing logistics and administrative operations, ensuring compliance with SI procedures and donor requirements.
Supporting the operationalization and consolidation of the Adwa base, including administrative, HR, and logistical systems.
Managing security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-related support aspects, including contingency preparedness and communication systems.
Building and maintaining the capacities of support staff while promoting compliance and teamwork.
Reviewing and updating key support tools, trackers, and reporting mechanisms.
Contributing to budget follow-up and cost-control measures in coordination with the Field Coordinator.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a master’s degree or equivalent field experience in Humanitarian Action, International Development, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have strong knowledge of logistics, procurement, fleet, facilities, and administrative management in humanitarian contexts. The ability to work under pressure in challenging environments, along with cultural sensitivity and a commitment to humanitarian principles, is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
Educational Background: A master’s degree in a relevant field such as Humanitarian Action, International Development, Social Sciences, or Project Management is required. Equivalent field experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience: Candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years of experience in a similar position. This experience is crucial for understanding the complexities of logistics and administration in humanitarian contexts.
Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages such as Amharic or Tigrigna is considered a strong asset, enhancing communication with local communities and stakeholders.

The salary is competitive, starting from EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 400 is provided, along with accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization offers a break system, allowing for time off every three months, and provides an insurance package covering healthcare expenses. Living conditions include shared guesthouse accommodations, with limited social life in Adwa. Security constraints are present due to political tensions, and the manager must be prepared for evolving security situations.
