Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse Management Associate include:
Planning and managing warehouse operations to ensure safe and efficient storage of commodities.
Contributing to the review of WFP corporate warehouse standards and procedures to enhance efficiency.
Coordinating the receipt and dispatch of commodities, ensuring accurate recording and reporting.
Maintaining the accuracy of warehouse transaction records and addressing discrepancies promptly.
Managing inventory through physical stock verification and reporting, ensuring compliance with WFP standards.
Preparing regular and ad hoc reports on warehouse operations to support planning and decision-making.
Safeguarding commodities by implementing preventive measures and quality control actions.
Reviewing warehouse space availability and planning new layouts for cost-efficiency.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver coherent warehouse services. 1
Identifying training needs and planning training sessions for warehouse staff. 1
Performing other related duties as assigned by the activity manager.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Warehouse Management Associate position include a completion of secondary school education, with a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Science, Operational Research, Business Analytics, or any related functional area being desirable. Candidates must have a minimum of 6 years of experience in the supply chain-related industry, logistics, warehousing, material distribution, procurement, contracting, or administration. Knowledge and skills in maintaining logistics databases, administering contracts, compiling documentation, and budget monitoring are essential for this role.
Educational Background: Candidates must have completed secondary school education, with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Science, Operational Research, or Business Analytics being highly desirable. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of warehouse management and logistics operations.
Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in the supply chain-related industry is required for this position. This experience should encompass logistics, warehousing, material distribution, procurement, contracting, or administration. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of warehouse operations and the ability to manage logistics effectively.
