Job Overview: The Political intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Affairs Intern will play a vital role in supporting the OSCSEA's mission by conducting research on the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse. The intern will also provide general office support, which involves drafting correspondence, preparing presentations, and maintaining communication materials. The position requires a proactive approach to legal and policy research, particularly in relation to UN accountability frameworks. The intern will be expected to undertake various responsibilities as needed, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the OSCSEA's initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for conducting research on issues related to the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, which includes data collection and analysis. They will support the implementation of advocacy and communication strategies, both internally and externally, utilizing web-based tools. General office support services will also be part of the role, which includes drafting and processing various correspondence and communications. The intern will assist in preparing, updating, and maintaining presentations and other informational materials. Additionally, they may support legal and policy research, including comparative analysis and drafting related to UN accountability frameworks and policy documents concerning sexual exploitation and abuse, in accordance with international, criminal, human rights, and administrative law. Other responsibilities may be assigned as required.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (1) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or (2) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). No prior working experience is required, but applicants should possess skills and training that would benefit the United Nations during their internship. Candidates should be computer literate in standard software applications and demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations, along with a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter. The ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds is also essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes either enrollment in or completion of a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor's degree program.
