Job Overview: The LogisticsCoordinator position is a United Nations Volunteers (UNV) assignment within the Facilities Management and Transport Section (FMTS) of UNON. The role involves direct supervision by the Chief of Office Space and Assets, focusing on the planning and coordination of office movements, space allocation, and stakeholder engagement. The Logistics Coordinator will manage assets, materials, contracts, and personnel to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of results. This position requires effective communication and coordination with external vendors, including freight forwarders, to ensure that services are delivered according to established plans and schedules. The role also emphasizes adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and consideration of gender-specific needs in all activities. The Logistics Coordinator will develop methodologies and tools for effective execution and monitoring of plans, including project-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Planning and coordinating office movements to ensure efficient use of space and resources.
Assisting in the planning of space allocation and selection processes.
Scheduling and conducting regular stakeholder meetings to discuss logistics and operational needs.
Managing assets, materials, contracts, and personnel to ensure timely and accountable delivery of expected results from all stakeholders.
Coordinating and liaising with external vendors, including freight forwarders, to ensure that required services are delivered in line with established plans and schedules.
Ensuring that all requirements and activities take into account relevant Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and gender-specific needs.
Developing methodologies and tools to enable effective execution and monitoring of plans, including project-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Performing other duties as assigned by the Chief of Office Space and Assets.
