Job Overview:
The position of Associate Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at WFP is crucial for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's programs. The role involves coordinating and executing data collection activities, contributing to the analysis, interpretation, and reporting of program execution and results. The Associate will work closely with the designated office head and will be responsible for ensuring that data is presented for further analysis and disseminated through appropriate channels to inform operational decision-making and strategic reorientation. This position is vital in supporting WFP's commitment to evidence-based decision-making and accountability, particularly in complex humanitarian contexts where food insecurity is exacerbated by conflict, climate-related disasters, and economic downturns.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Associate Monitoring and Evaluation Officer include managing and supervising a team of field monitors, providing constructive feedback to develop a cohesive and high-performing team, and supporting the line manager in preparing and monitoring detailed budgets for field monitoring and evaluation activities. The Associate will also assist in strengthening the monitoring capacity of WFP, its partners, and the government on the ground by offering learning and development opportunities and sharing information. Key tasks include implementing corporate monitoring and evaluation standards, collaborating closely with the Program Unit to monitor intervention execution and results, establishing good partnerships with beneficiary communities and cooperating partners, integrating gender, equity, disability, protection, and human rights issues into monitoring and evaluation work, and ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines during monitoring activities. The role also involves data collection, analysis, reporting, and ensuring that monitoring programs are executed according to established agreements and institutional standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, with a desirable professional degree in economics, public administration, industrial engineering, or similar fields, along with complementary studies and/or experience in quantitative analysis. A minimum of six years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as in communicating results, is required. Experience in leadership and team management, as well as familiarity with monitoring and evaluation systems and standards, is essential. Proficiency in tools such as KoBo, spreadsheets, and visualization tools is also necessary.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes the completion of secondary education, with a preference for candidates holding a professional degree in relevant fields such as economics, public administration, industrial engineering, or social sciences, complemented by additional studies or experience in quantitative analysis.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of six years of relevant experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as in the communication of results. Candidates should have experience in leading and managing teams, and familiarity with monitoring and evaluation systems and standards is crucial for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory for this position, while intermediate knowledge of English is desirable. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
