Job Overview:
The position of Técnico/a encargado/a del seguimiento de implementación y monitoreo de proyecto is crucial for the effective implementation of projects aimed at eradicating violence against women. Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Gender-Based Violence Specialist, the incumbent will support the development of objectives set forth by the Gender-Based Violence area, ensuring adherence to the organization's mandate and maintaining high-quality standards. The role involves monitoring the implementation of actions developed by Civil Society Organizations, including the development and application of monitoring and evaluation plans, data collection and analysis regarding the impact of grants, and coordination with local actors. The position also requires identifying potential risks to achieving impacts and implementing timely mitigation strategies, applying the principle of 'do no harm'. The incumbent will facilitate collaboration among civil society organizations and strategic actors, fostering their contributions to indicators and generating spaces for methodological exchange and coordination. Additionally, the role includes providing technical assistance to key actors to consolidate results-based management, change social norms, and implement regulations against gender-based violence.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Project Implementation: Monitor the implementation of actions developed by Civil Society Organizations, including developing and applying a monitoring and evaluation plan, collecting and analyzing data on the impact of grants, and coordinating with civil society organizations and local actors. Identify potential risks to achieving impacts and implement timely mitigation strategies, applying the principle of 'do no harm'. Drive collaboration among civil society organizations and strategic actors, uniting them around their contributions to indicators and generating spaces for methodological exchange and coordination. Provide technical assistance to key actors to consolidate their Results-Based Management, change social norms, and implement regulations against gender-based violence.
  • Comprehensive Technical Support and Coordination: Provide support in implementing activities developed by the area of violence eradication, ensuring quality and efficiency standards while generating synergies with other projects. This includes coordination, follow-up, and substantive review of products from specialized technicians; applying gender, generational, and diversity perspectives systematically, integrated, and documented in all activities under their responsibility. Support in coordinating, programming, organizing, and implementing the activity calendar. Provide technical assistance in preparing descriptive documents, analytical reports, data systematization, project profiles, talking points, presentations, and other materials required in the area. Assist in activities requiring logistical and technical support in dialogue, information, and training spaces, both virtual and/or in-person. Maintain an updated electronic file of technical documents; follow-up reports on area planning, as well as reports from programs and projects in the area.
  • Project Monitoring: The consultant will be responsible for supporting project monitoring in the EVAW area, ensuring compliance with results, collecting and analyzing information based on indicators, and preparing progress reports. They will also coordinate with counterparts for data validation, support evaluation processes, and contribute to the systematization of results and learnings, in line with the Results-Based Management approach and the use of corporate platforms.
  • Support in Inter-Agency Coordination: Assist in coordination meetings with counterparts, the UN Women team, and UN system agencies in coordination with their supervisor. Support in reviewing and preparing inter-agency documents. Follow up on minutes and inter-agency agreements.
  • The incumbent will also perform other functions within their functional profile as necessary for the efficient operation of the office and the organization.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in social sciences, law, and/or political science. A Master's degree and/or two postgraduate courses in related topics are desirable. Candidates should have at least five (5) years of general professional experience, with four (4) years of related work experience in project management with public, private, or international entities directed at populations in poverty and vulnerability. Experience of at least two (2) years in the area of eradicating violence against women and services for combating violence is desirable. Experience within the United Nations system will be favorably considered. Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows is required, along with knowledge of integrated UN Women systems (Quantum, DAMS, etc.) which will be positively valued. Familiarity with aspects related to project implementation with a gender focus, especially in rural settings, is desirable. Knowledge and understanding of gender approaches and rights-based approaches are also essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in social sciences, law, and/or political science. A Master's degree and/or two postgraduate courses in related fields are considered desirable qualifications for this position.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of general professional experience, with at least four (4) years of relevant work experience in project management with public, private, or international entities focused on populations in poverty and vulnerability. Additionally, candidates should have at least two (2) years of experience in the area of eradicating violence against women and services for combating violence, which is desirable. Experience within the United Nations system will be viewed favorably, as will solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows, and familiarity with integrated UN Women systems such as Quantum and DAMS.

Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in English is desirable, and knowledge of another official UN language (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) is also desirable.
