Job Overview: The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the implementation of the 'Scaling Up Economic Empowerment and Systemic Integration' project, which is a three-year initiative funded by the Ursula Zindel-Hilti Foundation. This project aims to enhance the resilience and socioeconomic empowerment of vulnerable women and men within supportive and inclusive communities across four governorates in Egypt. The coordinator will be responsible for overseeing capacity-building activities, facilitating partnerships, and implementing community-based interventions. This includes strengthening the capacities of 24 partner community-based organizations (CBOs), facilitating social entrepreneurship training, and ensuring effective collaboration between Plan International Egypt and local stakeholders. The role also involves managing operational, logistical, and administrative processes, supervising field officers, and supporting community-driven initiatives that directly benefit 1,600 individuals. The coordinator will contribute to monitoring progress, documenting lessons learned, and promoting knowledge sharing to ensure the project's sustainability and scalability.
Duties and Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include coordinating and supporting the pilot capacity-building program with the Ministry of Local Development in Giza, organizing and facilitating participatory training sessions, workshops, and mentorship activities. The coordinator will manage logistics and administration for trainings, including securing venues, preparing materials, tracking attendance, and reporting on outcomes. They will adapt and deliver Project ManagementTraining of Trainers (TOT) modules to ensure practical relevance for MLD staff, collect and analyze participant feedback to enhance training content and delivery, and document lessons learned, good practices, and success stories for future replication. The coordinator will also coordinate with UNHCR and MLD stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration, monitor program outcomes, and track progress against training objectives. Maintaining structured records and databases on training sessions and participant performance, preparing progress updates, reports, and inputs for donor and partner communication, and troubleshooting operational or coordination challenges are also part of the role. The Project Coordinator will adhere to Plan International's global policies on safeguarding and gender equality, ensuring compliance among staff and associates.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. They should have 3-4 years of experience in partnerships, community engagement, or related fields, particularly in working with government entities and civil society organizations on livelihoods, economic empowerment, or community development projects. A strong understanding of the socio-economic and governance context in Egypt, especially the challenges faced by vulnerable and marginalized groups, is essential. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to coordinate and deliver participatory training and learning programs, along with proven skills in documentation, reporting, and analysis of lessons learned and project outcomes. Additional Notes: This position is based on-site and has two vacancies available, one in Assiut and one in Damietta, both located in Upper Egypt. The role reports to the Upper Egypt Area Manager and is classified at Hay Level 1
