Job Overview:
The Shelter and WASH Assistant position is crucial for supporting NRC’s Shelter and WASH team in South Lebanon. This role involves implementing field activities that cater to both emergency response and regular programming, ensuring that affected populations receive timely and effective assistance in accordance with NRC standards and sector priorities. The assistant will work closely with the team to facilitate and monitor emergency shelter and WASH activities, ensuring compliance with established plans and standards. The position requires active participation in technical assessments, distributions, monitoring activities, and data collection, as well as follow-up with contractors on the implementation of shelter and WASH-related activities in the region. The assistant will also be responsible for mobilizing communities and community leaders for construction activities and ensuring that minimum standards are maintained in collective shelters and schools.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Shelter and WASH Assistant include facilitating and monitoring emergency shelter and WASH activities, implementing delegated project portfolios according to action plans, and producing accurate technical documentation such as drawings, reports, and measurements. The assistant will conduct rapid technical assessments for various types of shelters, supervise contractor rehabilitation work, and provide technical advice to beneficiaries. Additionally, the role involves ensuring safety inspections of sites, monitoring the quality of work, and distributing basic assistance and WASH-related kits. The assistant will also be responsible for generating comprehensive reports, conducting multi-sectoral needs assessments, and reporting any protection-related concerns. The position requires collaboration with team members and participation in training and assessments as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Shelter and WASH Assistant position must possess a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture engineering, or a related field. They should have 1-2 years of experience working on projects in a humanitarian or recovery context. Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, is essential. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
