Job Overview:
The Cleaner position within the OSCE Mission to Moldova is a temporary role that involves providing essential cleaning services to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the mission's premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks under the supervision of the Chief of Fund Administration and the National Procurement/Materials Management Officer. This role is crucial for ensuring a pleasant and professional environment for both staff and visitors. The appointments for this position are made on an 'as required' basis, which means that the duration of employment can vary significantly, ranging from a single day to several months, depending on the operational needs of the mission. The Cleaner will be expected to perform their duties with diligence and attention to detail, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the mission's operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Cleaner will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities that include but are not limited to: dusting furniture, cleaning doors, windows, toilets, and sinks; mopping, washing, or vacuuming floors and carpets; ensuring that all cleaning equipment is maintained in good condition; sanitizing countertops and appliances; operating and unloading the dishwasher; maintaining coffee machines, kettles, and microwaves; washing dishes and utensils; emptying the refrigerator and disposing of expired items; collecting and disposing of trash and recyclables; monitoring kitchen and cleaning supplies and promptly informing the supervisor of low stock levels; preparing meeting rooms by setting up necessary items such as water, glasses, cups, and napkins, and serving beverages or light refreshments for visitors upon request; maintaining plants in common and meeting areas; reporting maintenance issues; and performing other related tasks as required. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance, ensuring that all areas are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess primary education and have at least one year of experience in cleaning premises or offices. They should demonstrate the ability to use general cleaning and household equipment effectively. Good communication skills in both Romanian and Russian languages are essential, as the role involves interaction with a diverse group of individuals. Additionally, candidates should have the ability to work collaboratively with people from various nationalities, religious, and cultural backgrounds. Residency in the Republic of Moldova is a requirement for this position.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is primary education. However, candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) are preferred, as this may enhance their understanding of the work environment and responsibilities associated with the role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have at least one year of relevant experience in cleaning offices or similar environments. The Cleaner position is classified as a short-term contract with a duration that can range from one day to six months, depending on operational needs. The monthly remuneration for this position is EUR 522.16, and it is important to note that OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Moldova. The OSCE does not reimburse expenses related to travel for interviews, tests, visas, or relocation. Candidates should also be aware that appointments are subject to medical clearance, and the mandatory retirement age for contracted positions is 65 years.
