Job Overview:
The Financial Analyst position within the World Bank Group Treasury is a critical role that supports the Partnerships and Engagements (AP) Manager and involves close collaboration with various stakeholders including Financial Officers and Engagement Managers. The primary functions of this role include providing technical advisory services to RAMP member institutions, managing client data, producing analytical outputs, and supporting outreach efforts to prospective members. The position requires a strong analytical background and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner. The Financial Analyst will also engage in significant international travel to support technical missions and workshops, thereby enhancing the capacity of public asset management institutions worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
  • Client Support and Advisory Preparation: Assisting in the preparation and delivery of technical advisory services to RAMP member institutions, contributing to briefing materials and client engagement documents.
  • Data Management and Analytical Support: Managing client data related to advisory activities, producing analytical outputs and internal reports, and supporting research in governance and risk management.
  • Support with Technical Missions and Workshops: Providing operational support for technical missions and workshops, and preparing post-mission documents.
  • Support Outreach to Prospective Members: Identifying institutions that could benefit from the program and preparing background materials for engagement.
  • Collaboration and Projects: Collaborating with colleagues across departments to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • Technology and AI: Utilizing technology tools, including AI, to enhance efficiency and workflows.
  • Significant international travel is required to fulfill these responsibilities effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Financial Analyst position should possess an advanced degree in a relevant field such as economics, finance, mathematics, financial economics, or financial engineering. Additionally, candidates should have at least two years of relevant experience, preferably in investment management or central bank operations. Progress toward or completion of a professional certification such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in technology tools, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential for success in this role.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in a relevant field of study is required for this position. This could include degrees in economics, finance, mathematics, financial economics, or financial engineering. Such educational qualifications provide the necessary theoretical foundation and analytical skills needed to perform the duties of a Financial Analyst effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience. This experience should ideally be in investment management or central bank operations, providing the candidate with a solid understanding of financial markets and asset management practices. Candidates with experience in advisory roles or client-facing positions will be particularly well-suited for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as the role involves extensive communication and documentation in English. Additionally, proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is highly desirable, as these languages will enhance the candidate's ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and clients across different regions.
