Job Overview: The position of Early Career Graduate as a digital editor within CERN's Media and Digital Communications section is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the organization's communication efforts. The digital editor will work closely with the social media team, web team, and press office to enhance CERN's online presence. This role involves assessing and improving the content on the home.cern website, redesigning web pages, and updating content to ensure it meets the needs of the audience. The digital editor will also be responsible for advising content creators on best practices and providing web statistics reports to inform content improvements. Duties and Responsibilities: As a digital editor, your responsibilities will include: assessing and improving the content on the home.cern website through redesigns and updates; creating dedicated websites for specific events such as the 2027 Open Days; advising content creators on best practices for online content; providing web statistics reports and analysis; participating in web team meetings and sprints; supporting the social media team by editing content for clarity; and collaborating with other communication teams within the Media and Digital Communications section. You will play a crucial role in enhancing CERN's digital communication efforts and ensuring that the content is engaging and informative for a global audience.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in STEM or Social Sciences (or a related field). The highest educational qualification required is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Applicants must not have previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract, and those without a university degree or with a PhD are not eligible for this position. Strong organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.
