Job Overview:
The MEAL Activity Manager position is crucial for ensuring that all activities are implemented according to established standards. Reporting to the Field Coordinator, the manager will oversee the monitoring and evaluation of projects, ensuring that the Accountability to Affected Population strategy is effectively executed. The role involves providing comprehensive support to program teams in monitoring activities, ensuring adherence to SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL's recommendations and procedures. The manager will also be responsible for data analysis related to activities and will prepare monitoring reports as required. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of data collection and ensuring that all monitoring tools and files are organized and accessible to the program team. The MEAL Activity Manager will also participate in the design and implementation of accountability strategies and ensure that community feedback mechanisms are in place and functioning effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The MEAL Activity Manager will supervise the monitoring of program activities, developing monitoring plans and tools for all project-related activities. Responsibilities include centralizing and organizing data collection, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining updated monitoring tools and files. The manager will be the focal point for implementing relevant surveys and evaluations, participating in data analysis, and preparing training for the MEAL team. Additionally, the manager will participate in the implementation of the accountability strategy, ensuring that complaint response mechanisms are accessible and that community feedback is registered and addressed in a timely manner. The role also involves reporting to the Field Coordinator on various aspects of the activities, including security context and monitoring outputs, and facilitating workshops to disseminate findings. The manager will represent SI in MEAL activities and coordinate logistics needs for monitoring activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the NGO, private, or public sector, with at least 2 years of progressive experience in an INGO, preferably in MEAL. A Bachelor's degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, Business/Public Administration, or related fields is required. A Master's degree will be considered an added advantage. Candidates should possess strong technical skills in MEAL tool development, data analysis, and team management, along with good IT skills, particularly in Kobo Collect or similar applications and MS Office software.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, or Business/Public Administration. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred and will enhance the candidate's qualifications.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 2 years in a progressively responsible role within an INGO, specifically in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL). Candidates should demonstrate experience in managing teams and implementing MEAL activities effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, while proficiency in Hausa is considered an added advantage. Strong communication skills in both languages will facilitate effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is a short-term contract based in Gusau, Zamfara State, Nigeria. The role is full-time and involves significant responsibilities in monitoring and evaluation within the humanitarian sector. The compensation package includes a salary, transport and housing contributions, social benefits such as medical coverage, annual leave, compassionate leave, public holidays, a festive bonus, and life insurance covering death and permanent disability.
