Job Overview:
The Information Knowledge Management Intern position at HQ AIRCOM offers a unique opportunity for Bachelor or Master students, or recent graduates, to gain hands-on experience in a multinational military environment. The intern will work within the Information Knowledge Management (IKM) Section of the Management Directorate, contributing to the digital transformation of business processes. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and engage with various IKM work areas, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of the importance of information management in a large multinational headquarters. The intern will be involved in analyzing and digitalizing administrative and operational processes, collaborating with stakeholders to map current workflows, and identifying opportunities for optimization. Additionally, the intern will assist in the design and implementation of digital workflows using NATO-approved tools, ensuring that they gain practical experience in digital solution adoption and process refinement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: 1. Analyzing and digitalizing administrative and operational processes by collaborating with stakeholders to map current workflows and identify optimization opportunities. 2. Designing and implementing digital workflows using NATO-approved tools such as LINQI and other low-code platforms. 3. Supporting the adoption of digital solutions and refining processes by gathering user requirements, validating proposed solutions, providing basic user guidance, and collecting feedback. 4. Providing general support to the IKM team, which includes exposure to knowledge management practices, SharePoint-based collaboration, and day-to-day operational activities. 5. Engaging in continuous learning and development opportunities to enhance skills in information management and digital transformation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements: 1. Nationality: Must be a citizen of a NATO member nation. 2. Language: Advanced English language skills are mandatory. 3. Education: Open to current students who have successfully completed at least two years of their bachelor's or master's degree, or recent graduates (degree obtained within the last 18 months) in fields such as Information Management, Information Systems, Business Analysis, or a related discipline. 4. Skills and Experience: Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (e.g., Excel, SharePoint, Teams) is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to understand, map, and improve processes, and work with structured information and workflows. Experience with process mapping tools or methodologies (e.g., BPMN, flowcharts, Visio, Lucidchart) is desired, along with previous exposure to low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Power Automate, LINQI) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Information Management, Information Systems, Business Analysis, or a related field. Candidates must have completed at least two years of their bachelor's or master's degree to be eligible for this internship. Recent graduates who have obtained their degree within the last 18 months are also encouraged to apply. This educational background is crucial as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of information management and digital transformation in a multinational military context.

Experience:
Candidates are expected to have a foundational level of experience relevant to the internship. While prior internship experience is not mandatory, familiarity with information management practices, digital workflows, and process optimization will be advantageous. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Experience with Microsoft 365 tools and process mapping methodologies will be considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's suitability for the role.

Languages:
Advanced English language skills are mandatory for this position, as effective communication is essential in a multinational environment. While English is the primary language of communication at HQ AIRCOM, knowledge of additional languages, particularly those of NATO member nations, would be considered an asset. Additional Notes:
The AIRCOM Internship is a six-month program, and interns will receive a monthly lump sum of €1,452 Euro as per the 2026 pay scale. It is important for interns to declare this income to the relevant tax authorities. Interns may also receive emoluments from outside sources, such as scholarships or grants, during their internship. Candidates are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and living expenses. Additionally, interns are required to have their own social insurance coverage, including healthcare, upon joining AIRCOM. Participation in the internship is contingent upon receiving NATO security clearance from the intern’s national authorities, which can take an average of six months or longer.
