Job Overview: The Grants and Partnership Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the grants for the country office, ensuring compliance with donor regulations, and supporting external communications for various audiences. This position is vital for producing high-quality and timely reports, assessments, proposals, and other documents that are shared externally. The role is particularly challenging as the Yemen Mission is expected to diversify its donor and grants portfolio in the coming years, which includes traditional institutional donors and new private and Gulf donors. The manager will need to navigate a complex funding landscape, as humanitarian funding is anticipated to decrease while development donors are becoming more involved in Yemen. The position requires a proactive approach to business development, particularly in writing key propositional concept notes that align with the mission's strategy and enhance donor intelligence and influencing efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Grants and Partnership Manager will be responsible for the following duties: 1) Facilitate the mission's business development by writing key propositional concept notes aimed at advancing the mission strategy, particularly towards development donors. 2) Ensure detailed management of the grants management cycle, focusing on the Kick-off and Inception Phases for all new grants/projects, which includes overseeing 4-5 new projects and 8 ongoing ones. 3) Steer the partnership strategy and support the Consortium Manager in implementing new integrated approaches and consortia throughout 2024/202
4) Develop a more sustainable Grants department, which currently relies solely on international staff. 5) Ensure compliance with donor regulations and maintain high standards in reporting and documentation. 6) Engage with various stakeholders to enhance the mission's visibility and influence in the humanitarian sector.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following qualifications: 1) A BA or Diploma in a relevant field. 2) Experience in the humanitarian sector ranging from 0 to 2 years. 3) Experience in a similar position, also ranging from 0 to 2 years. 4) Technical skills in proposal writing and resource mobilization. 5) Experience in grant management and compliance, particularly with institutional donors. 6) Experience in partnership development. 7) Good analytical and writing/editing skills. 8) Advanced communication skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively. 9) Capacity to work under tight deadlines in a challenging humanitarian environment.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a BA or Diploma in a relevant field. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of grant management and partnership development within the humanitarian sector.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have between 0 to 2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a similar range of experience in a comparable role. During the assignment, a system of alternating work and time off is implemented, allowing for breaks every two months, with an additional rest day granted for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package that covers healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs.
