Job Overview: As a Platform Engineer at EBRD, you will play a crucial role in leading the transformation of cloud-native architectures and containerized microservices on the Azure platform. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Platform Engineer include but are not limited to: designing and implementing hyperscale cloud architectures, supporting microservice-oriented and containerized solutions, consulting on DevOps practices across different squads, troubleshooting application issues, and managing infrastructure effectively. You will also be responsible for setting up CI/CD pipelines, ensuring high availability architectures, and implementing disaster recovery solutions. Familiarity with both commercial and open-source observability tools is essential, as is the ability to provision platforms through IaC tools. You will be expected to migrate workloads between on-premise and hyperscale cloud environments and re-architect applications to function efficiently in cloud settings. Additionally, you will work closely with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess intermediate to advanced technology certifications in their area of specialization, as well as entry-level service management certifications such as ITIL Foundation. A robust understanding of software development principles, infrastructure management, and performance monitoring approaches is essential. Experience with Microsoft Azure, production-level containers, and orchestration tools is required, along with a proven track record of working with enterprise-scale applications and API gateways. The ability to apply DevOps tools and practices to on-premise workloads is also necessary for this role.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required for this position. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in cloud computing, DevOps, or related areas may be advantageous and are often preferred by employers in this sector.
Experience: Candidates should have substantial experience in designing, implementing, and supporting hyperscale cloud architectures, as well as experience with microservice-oriented and containerized solutions. A background in consulting on DevOps practices and working with Managed Service Providers is highly desirable.
