Job Overview:
The Security Guard Supervisor position is critical for maintaining the safety and security of UN staff, property, and installations in Abyei. The incumbent will oversee the security guard shifts, ensuring that all security protocols are followed and that any incidents are reported promptly to the designated Officer in Charge of the Compound Security Unit. This role requires strong leadership skills, as the supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of security guards, conducting briefings, and ensuring that all personnel adhere to established security measures. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Security Guard Supervisor include: assisting in the supervision of the security team, ensuring strict control of entry and exit points, verifying identification and authorization of personnel and vehicles, preventing unauthorized access to sensitive areas, overseeing daily deployment and performance of security guards, conducting regular briefings, assigning duties, and ensuring adherence to security protocols. The supervisor will monitor attendance and discipline of security staff, organize and supervise regular patrols, respond to and investigate suspicious activities, and act as the first point of command during security incidents. Additionally, the supervisor will prepare and submit incident reports, maintain accurate records of security activities, guide staff and visitors during emergencies, ensure smooth shift handovers, enforce compound rules and regulations, and conduct periodic checks to ensure posts are manned. The supervisor will also safeguard compound property and monitor storage areas and high-value equipment locations, ensuring the availability of security equipment. The role may involve performing other duties as assigned by the supervisors of the Compound Security Unit.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work for the United Nations in Abyei. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least one year of experience in UN Security Guard Force Management as a Team Leader. Additional experience with local, national, or private police, security, or fire brigade organizations is considered an advantage. Educational Background:
