Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
The JPO Logistics Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:

• Contributing to the development of logistics plans and processes, ensuring compliance with WFP policies.
• Supporting or managing logistics projects and operational activities to ensure effective food assistance delivery.
• Gathering and analyzing logistics data from various sources to recommend improvements to senior staff.
• Managing operational aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, shipping, and customs clearance.
• Providing technical support to Country Office units, especially during emergency responses.
• Preparing accurate and timely reports, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Supporting capacity building of WFP staff and partners through training materials.
• Cultivating relationships with logistics colleagues to enhance food assistance integration.
• Participating in emergency logistics preparedness and Country Office Logistics Capacity Assessments. 1
• Producing standardized logistics reports and updating key logistics procedures and maps. 1
• Performing other duties as required to support logistics operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in supply chain management, data sciences, business administration, engineering, development studies, disaster management, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a collaborative spirit, strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, along with a willingness to work in challenging environments. A basic understanding of logistics operations and humanitarian concepts is also required.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree is required for this position, specifically in fields related to supply chain management, data sciences, business administration, engineering, development studies, disaster management, or disaster risk reduction. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of logistics and supply chain operations in humanitarian contexts.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in logistics or supply chain management. Candidates should have a proven track record of working collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders, demonstrating credibility and diplomacy in various cultural contexts. Experience in managing competing priorities and working under tight deadlines is essential, as is a willingness to engage in field missions and challenging environments.

Languages:
