Job Overview:
The Driver position at CRS is responsible for providing safe, timely, and efficient transportation and delivery services. This role is crucial in ensuring that CRS/Nigeria fleet vehicles are maintained according to both manufacturer and organizational standards. The driver will support routine preventive maintenance, ensure vehicle reliability, and deliver excellent customer service while adhering to safety and operational procedures. The position requires effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The driver will also be expected to adapt to challenging operational environments, particularly in humanitarian contexts, and will play a key role in maintaining the organization's commitment to safety and efficiency in transportation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver will be tasked with providing safe, timely, and professional transportation of staff, visitors, goods, and equipment in accordance with CRS policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include receiving and executing daily transport assignments, conducting daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness, and maintaining cleanliness and fuel levels in vehicles. The driver will accurately record all trips, movements, fuel usage, and vehicle inspections in the m-VMS/VMS systems, submitting reports within established timelines. In case of accidents, mechanical faults, or security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security incidents, the driver must promptly report these to the Head Driver, Fleet Officer, or Fleet Manager. The role also involves supporting preventive maintenance activities, performing minor adjustments or emergency repairs, and ensuring compliance with CRS travel and fleet procedures. The driver will assist with loading and unloading goods, promote safe driving practices, and maintain regular communication with field teams and office staff during field movements.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/GCE O’ Level) or equivalent, along with a valid Nigerian driver’s license and a good knowledge of Nigerian roads and traffic regulations. A trade school certificate is considered a plus. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3–5 years of professional driving experience, preferably with an international non-governmental organization (INGO) or similar entity. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety procedures, and defensive driving practices is essential. Familiarity with GPS, mobile applications, and digital reporting tools such as m-VMS/MS Office is an added advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/GCE O’ Level) or its equivalent. Additionally, a trade school certificate related to vehicle maintenance or driving is considered beneficial.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3–5 years of professional driving experience. Candidates with experience working in humanitarian or development organizations will be preferred, as this background is crucial for understanding the operational challenges faced in such environments.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. Knowledge of additional local languages is considered an added advantage, as it can enhance communication with local communities and stakeholders.
