Job Overview:
The Financial Assistant will be locally recruited in Burkina Faso and will work closely with the project team to contribute to the implementation of planned activities by assuming the role of Project Finance Associate. Under the supervision of the Finance Officer, the Financial Assistant will be responsible for accounting and finance functions, as well as other project support tasks. This role involves assisting the finance officer in organizing, preparing, and managing accounting and financial documents related to the project, ensuring compliance with FHI 360's operational rules and standards, as well as those of the United States Government (USG). The Financial Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting the overall success of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Financial Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: timely entry of accounting transactions; assisting the finance officer with periodic accounting closure tasks and financial reporting; ensuring compliance with social and tax declaration schedules and timely payment of IUTS, CNSS, and other taxes owed by the organization; preparing the liquidation of invoices and other expense documents and issuing payment instruments for the project director's signature; ensuring proper allocation and liquidation of advances to staff; maintaining accurate records of accounting archives and personnel; assisting in the preparation of internal and external audits; systematically scanning accounting bundles and making them available; ensuring payments for participants, meetings, conferences, workshops, and travel in accordance with organizational policy; collecting reports related to programs, training, workshops, travel, and other project-related reports for liquidation; maintaining petty cash; and performing other tasks as required by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bac+2 in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; however, a higher degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting or finance is required, with demonstrated experience in financial and accounting management within NGOs or projects funded by international donors. At least two years of experience in financial archiving is necessary, with a preference for digital archiving. Experience in using accounting software for at least one year is required, with more than three years being desirable. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to proactively manage multiple major activities simultaneously and in an organized manner, and strong verbal and written communication skills in French, with knowledge of English being an asset.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a Bac+2 in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A higher degree is preferred, indicating a strong foundation in financial principles and practices that are essential for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, particularly within the context of NGOs or projects funded by international donors. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing financial and accounting tasks effectively, demonstrating their capability to handle the responsibilities outlined in the job description.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of English is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage in diverse environments and communicate with a broader range of stakeholders.

The expected hiring salary range for this role is XOF 6,000,000 - 7,000,000 annually for basic salary.
