This role is pivotal in managing a European Union project in collaboration with the United Nations Project Services (UNOPS) and Expertise France. The incumbent will oversee the operational management of the project, ensuring that all activities are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within the allocated budget. The position requires close collaboration with a project finance assistant in the country office and a finance specialist in Brussels, ensuring financial oversight and adherence to the project's work plan aligned with the UNFPA Strategic Plan for 2026-202
The Technical Coordinator will lead a technical team to achieve key outputs related to wellbeing, gender, and community engagement, thereby contributing to the broader goals of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Technical Coordinator (Project Manager) will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: leading the day-to-day management and implementation of the project; coordinating the technical delivery of EU/EY project outputs; overseeing the integration of life skills and reproductive health education into the school curriculum; acting as the UNFPA focal point for the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST); managing community-level interventions and mentorship programs; identifying operational risks and implementing mitigation strategies; serving as the liaison with UNOPS and Expertise France; managing relationships with sub-grantees; and utilizing data for evidence-based reporting to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in Public Health, Education, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, or Project Management. A minimum of five years of professional experience in managing complex development programs, particularly in education or adolescent health, is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate competencies in results-based management, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships effectively. Additionally, candidates should exemplify integrity, commitment to UNFPA's mission, and embrace cultural diversity and change.
