Job Overview:
The ET Consultant (Linux Administrator) position is integral to the World Bank Group's Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency, which plays a crucial role in enabling the organization to fulfill its mission of alleviating poverty and enhancing shared prosperity. The consultant will be embedded within the Linux Infrastructure team, contributing to the design, maintenance, and optimization of RHEL-based infrastructure across both data centers and cloud environments (Azure/AWS). This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including OS lifecycle management, automation of processes, and ensuring compliance with security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security standards. The consultant will also be involved in developing CI/CD pipelines, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, and supporting incident management and monitoring efforts. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to operational excellence, as the consultant will work collaboratively with various technology teams to enhance the productivity and efficiency of IT operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties that include: A. Infrastructure Engineering & Operations: Designing and maintaining RHEL-based infrastructure across data centers and cloud environments, building and managing gold/immutable images, performing OS lifecycle management, and ensuring system performance and reliability. B. Automation & DevOps Integration: Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for image creation and deployment, automating OS configuration, implementing Infrastructure as Code practices, and integrating workflows with tools like ServiceNow. C. Security & Compliance: Remediating vulnerabilities, enforcing CIS hardening standards, handling CVE mitigation, and ensuring compliance with enterprise security policies. D. administration" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">System Administration & Support: Managing Linux services, troubleshooting OS performance issues, and supporting enterprise tools. E. Access Control & Governance: Implementing least privilege access, validating and auditing access, and supporting compliance audits. F. Monitoring & Incident Management: Integrating systems with monitoring tools, supporting incident response, and ensuring proactive detection of anomalies. G. Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining detailed documentation for system configurations and security fixes, and providing audit-ready reports for compliance teams.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong hands-on experience in Linux system administration, particularly with RHEL environments, is essential. Candidates should have a good working knowledge of networking and security protocols, experience with storage and file systems, and proficiency in automation and scripting languages such as Bash or Python. Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting tools, as well as high availability and clustering solutions, is also required. Preferred qualifications include RHCSA/RHCE certification or equivalent, experience with containerization technologies, and familiarity with ITSM tools.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field is required, with a focus on Information Technology or a related discipline. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in IT principles, systems administration, and infrastructure management, complemented by practical experience in the field.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in Linux system administration, with a strong emphasis on managing RHEL environments. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in enterprise environments, demonstrating their ability to handle complex IT infrastructure challenges and contribute to operational excellence.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in additional languages is considered a plus, although not explicitly required.
