The organization operates in over 170 countries and has a workforce of approximately 2300 employees from diverse scientific, technical, managerial, and professional disciplines. The IAEA is headquartered in Vienna, Austria, and works closely with various international organizations, including the United Nations, to achieve its goals.

Job Overview:
The internship program at the IAEA is designed to provide students with practical work experience that aligns with their academic studies or interests. Interns will have the opportunity to engage with the work of the IAEA and the broader United Nations system. The program aims to benefit the IAEA's initiatives by leveraging the skills and knowledge of qualified students specializing in various professional fields. Interns may be assigned to different areas within the Division of Human Resources (MTHR), which encompasses HR Management, HR Services, and HR Development. The internship duration ranges from three months to one year, allowing interns to gain substantial exposure to the organization's operations and contribute to meaningful projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be expected to conduct background research on HR matters, which may include reviewing academic research papers and analyzing best practices from both the private and public sectors, as well as policies from other international organizations. They will support the development of promotional and outreach materials and coordinate activities and events aimed at enhancing awareness of various HR areas. Interns will respond to requests for guidance on HR-related topics and contribute to the design, improvement, and facilitation of training programs. They will also assist in the administration of training data and prepare drafts of HR reports, guidelines, and presentations. Additionally, interns will analyze and report on HR data and Key Performance Indicators as required, and support other HR activities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree (either in progress or recently completed) in fields such as Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related discipline. They should have experience in drafting documents and reports in English, and experience in an international work environment or with HR-related work is highly desirable. Proficiency in using Windows and MS Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Teams, is also required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be at least 20 years old and have completed a minimum of three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards a first degree. They may apply up to one year after completing a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree. It is important to note that candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship program.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in drafting documents and reports, particularly in English. Experience in an international work environment or in roles related to Human Resources is highly desirable, as it will provide the necessary context and understanding of the IAEA's operations and HR functions.

Languages:
Good written and spoken English is essential for this position. Fluency in any other IAEA official language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, or Russian, is considered an asset and will enhance the candidate's profile.

Candidates are required to submit two signed letters of recommendation along with their application to support their candidacy.
