Job Overview: As the People and Culture Officer, you will report to the People and Culture Manager, receiving close guidance, training, and supervision. Your role will involve executing HR services by applying theoretical HR models and understanding organizational HR policies and procedures. You will be expected to provide strategic human resources support, implement assigned HR services, and contribute to learning and capacity development within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide strategic HR support to the People and Culture Manager and the unit, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Execute HR services effectively, applying knowledge of HR models and policies.
Engage in business partnering to understand and address the HR needs of various departments.
Support the implementation of HR services, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
Facilitate learning and capacity development initiatives to enhance staff skills and competencies.
Conduct HR data analytics to inform decision-making and improve HR processes.
Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
Advocate for consistent and equitable application of HR regulations and policies across the organization.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR trends and best practices to enhance organizational effectiveness.
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in Human Resources or Human Resources Management within international organizations or large corporations is required.
Advanced knowledge of HR principles and concepts is essential.
Strong research, planning, and organizational skills are necessary for effective performance.
Excellent IT skills and familiarity with HR information systems are required.
Effective communication skills tailored to diverse audiences are crucial.
Empathy and the ability to advocate for staff while ensuring compliance with HR regulations are important.
Educational Background: A Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business Management, International Relations, or any related fields is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding HR principles and practices, which are critical for the role of People and Culture Officer.
Experience: The position requires at least 2 years of relevant work experience in Human Resources or Human Resources Management, preferably within international organizations or large corporations. This experience should include exposure to various HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, and performance management, as well as familiarity with HR policies and procedures in a diverse organizational context.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, along with a good working knowledge of English. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing communication capabilities within the diverse environment of UNICEF.
