Job Overview:
The Experienced Education Technical Assistant will play a crucial role in implementing educational programs that align with NRC's mission and objectives. This position requires a commitment to adhering to NRC policies and guidelines while executing project activities. The assistant will be responsible for preparing status reports for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring proper documentation and verification processes are followed. The role also involves identifying opportunities for program improvement and actively participating in the planning and implementation of educational activities. The assistant will work closely with government education stakeholders and mobilize communities to enhance educational participation, ensuring that learning opportunities are accessible to children and youth in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Experienced Education Technical Assistant include planning and implementing program activities in accordance with the project log frame, budget, and work plan. The assistant will liaise with government education stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of educational initiatives. Responsibilities also include mobilizing communities to support learning opportunities, identifying and registering children and youth for educational activities, and overseeing the distribution of educational materials. The assistant will monitor activities to ensure accurate data collection and community feedback, ensuring that learning spaces are safe and reporting any protection concerns. Additionally, the assistant will supervise learning facilitators, provide training to teachers, develop work plans, and coordinate with other NRC programs and organizations involved in education activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in a similar position with a national or international NGO or a United Nations organization, particularly in the northeast of Nigeria. A Bachelor's degree in education or a related field is required. Experience in activity planning and budget management, as well as community mobilization, is essential. Candidates should possess strong analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Formal or non-formal teaching experience is preferred, along with experience in humanitarian or development activities in the region.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in education or a related field is mandatory for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the educational programs and initiatives implemented by NRC.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with a national or international NGO or a United Nations organization. Experience in the northeast of Nigeria is particularly valuable, as it provides insight into the unique challenges and needs of the communities served by NRC. Candidates should also have experience in activity planning and budget management, as well as community mobilization.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, including speaking, reading, and writing skills. Additionally, fluency in Hausa is preferred, and knowledge of other local languages would be considered an advantage. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders and communities.
