Job Overview:
The Experienced Education Technical Assistant position at NRC in Yola, Adamawa State, is designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting refugees and displaced persons. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Experienced Education Technical Assistant include:
  • Adhering to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
  • Implementing activities based on project and program requirements.
  • Preparing status reports for internal and external reporting.
  • Ensuring proper filing of documents and means of verification.
  • Identifying and sharing ideas for improvement of the Education program.
  • Planning and implementing program activities in compliance with project log frame, budget, work plan, and proposal.
  • Liaising with government education stakeholders for effective coordination.
  • Mobilizing communities to support learning opportunities and educational participation.
  • Identifying and registering children and youth for learning activities based on NRC and donor criteria. 1
  • Planning, overseeing, and documenting the distribution of materials and supplies for learning, verifying amounts received and distributed, and recording any losses. 1
  • Monitoring activities and ensuring accuracy of data collection and tracking of community feedback and complaints in coordination with NRC's Protection and Complaints and Feedback Units. 1
  • Ensuring that learning spaces are safe for learners and reporting any protection concerns. 1
  • Supervising learning facilitators and enumerators and reporting performance concerns. 1
  • Providing training to teachers on pedagogy, child protection, and NRC’s Better Learning Program. 1
  • Developing weekly work plans and other key implementation planning documents. 1
  • Monitoring implementation and providing recommendations to improve the quality of implementation. 1
  • Coordinating with other NRC programs, other organizations implementing education activities, and actively participating in Education in Emergencies Working Group meetings.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Experienced Education Technical Assistant position include:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position with a national or international NGO or a United Nations organization in the northeast of Nigeria.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
  • Experience in activity planning and budget management.
  • Experience working with and mobilizing communities.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Formal or non-formal teaching experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in humanitarian or development activities in the northeast of Nigeria.

Educational Background:
Candidates for the Experienced Education Technical Assistant position must possess a Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the principles of teaching and learning, as well as the challenges faced in educational settings, particularly in humanitarian contexts.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with a national or international NGO or a United Nations organization. Languages:
