Job Overview:
The Asistente ICLA position is crucial for the implementation of the Information, Counselling, and Legal Assistance (ICLA) project portfolio. The role involves ensuring adherence to NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines while supporting the execution of project activities according to the action plan. The Asistente ICLA will be responsible for developing and maintaining knowledge of ICLA competencies in the area of operation, facilitating operational management of the ICLA response. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, effective communication, and the ability to prepare reports as required by management. The Asistente will also manage information securely, promote ideas to strengthen support functions, and assist in implementing relevant activities outlined in the country office's action plan.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente ICLA will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including providing inputs for designing legal strategies and activities to deliver ICLA services efficiently. They will implement information, orientation, and legal assistance activities for internally displaced persons and vulnerable migrants, ensuring a coordinated response to protect individuals in vulnerable situations. The role involves fostering community participation during humanitarian emergencies, supporting the preparation of reports for Rapid Needs Assessments (ERN), and identifying community response capacities. The Asistente will document and follow up on cases in collaboration with key actors, conduct legal assistance activities, and develop legal documents to promote access to rights for victims of armed conflict. Additionally, they will facilitate internal training activities for public officials and other organizations to enhance institutional response capacity, monitor and close legal assistance cases, and analyze legal needs for strategic litigation. The Asistente will also engage in community integration activities and execute other tasks assigned by their immediate supervisor to meet the objectives of the role.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess technical or graduate studies in Law or Social Sciences. A minimum of one year of experience as an Assistant in humanitarian contexts is required. Knowledge of the Ecuadorian state structure and international law is essential, along with prior experience in complex and changing environments. Basic knowledge of the English language is also necessary to facilitate communication and understanding in diverse contexts.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Asistente ICLA position includes technical or graduate-level studies in Law or Social Sciences. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the legal frameworks and social dynamics that impact displaced populations and vulnerable individuals.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of relevant work experience as an Assistant in humanitarian settings. Candidates should have experience working in complex and rapidly changing environments, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in the face of challenges. Previous experience in legal assistance or related fields is highly valued, as it contributes to the effectiveness of the ICLA project implementation.

Languages:
