Job Overview:
The Analyst, Sustainable Infrastructure position is based in the Casablanca, Morocco Resident Office and reports directly to the Director, Head of Morocco. This role is integral to the project cycle, contributing to project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst will be responsible for various tasks assigned by the operation leader or senior project team members, which include conducting comprehensive due diligence, ensuring compliance with EBRD policies, and facilitating effective post-signing implementation and monitoring. The Analyst will work collaboratively within a project team, gaining experience and progressively taking on more complex tasks as they develop their expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst's responsibilities include:
  • Structuring and Execution: Collaborating as a project team member on transactions, conducting thorough research and analysis of market information and financial performance data, evaluating potential risks, and preparing financial models and projections. Assisting in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance, preparing terms of reference, and ensuring timely completion of tasks in accordance with the Bank's policies.
  • Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting: Undertaking tasks related to project implementation and monitoring, ensuring compliance with project agreements, preparing monitoring reports, and recommending corrective actions when necessary. Assisting with the effective implementation of technical cooperation assignments and ensuring compliance with donor reporting requirements. The Analyst's role is designed to allow for growth in responsibilities based on experience and expertise.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, familiarity with local and international accounting principles, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet software. Effective teamwork, communication skills in English, and a good command of French and the local language are also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory for this position, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications in finance or accounting are highly desirable and will enhance a candidate's application.

Experience:
Relevant experience in the financial industry is required, ideally from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm that adheres to international standards. Candidates should have exposure to industry or country-specific experience, which will be beneficial in understanding the context of the projects managed by the EBRD.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with good written and oral communication skills. A good command of French and the local language is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with local stakeholders and clients effectively.
