Job Overview: As a firefighter at CERN, you will be an integral part of the Fire and Rescue Service, working in a dynamic and challenging environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Your duties will include performing firefighting and medical emergency response operations, monitoring and managing emergency dispatch activities from the Safety Control Room, conducting technical inspections and patrols to ensure compliance with fire regulations, and providing specialized assistance in confined space operations and hazardous material handling. You will also participate in regular training drills and exercises, engage in fire prevention initiatives, maintain firefighting and medical emergency equipment, contribute to ongoing projects within the Fire and Rescue Service, assist with administrative duties, and participate in physical training programs to ensure you are fit for duty.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold official diplomas and/or certifications confirming their education and training as a firefighter, issued by a recognized public or private body. These qualifications are essential for ensuring that all firefighters meet the necessary standards for safety and emergency response. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
Educational Background: A background in fire science or a related field is preferred, with specific certifications in firefighting and emergency response being mandatory. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of fire safety and emergency management in a high-stakes environment like CERN.
