Job Overview:
The consultant will play a crucial role in refining, operationalizing, and supporting the implementation of the IIMP Gender Strategy. This position requires ensuring that the institution’s policies, processes, and programmatic work are gender-responsive and inclusive. The consultant will focus on translating the Gender Strategy into actionable institutional practices, strengthening internal capacities, and ensuring the systematic integration of gender perspectives across all areas of work. The role involves providing tailored technical advice, designing and delivering targeted trainings, and developing practical tools to support gender-responsive programming and operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for refining the IIMP Gender Strategy and assessing its alignment with the institution’s mandate and relevant international standards. They will support the operationalization of the Gender Strategy across institutional tools, policies, and processes. The consultant will ensure the systematic integration of gender considerations across key areas of work, including participation, referrals, data collection, and engagement with victims, survivors, and families. They will provide tailored technical advice to each section on integrating gender perspectives into their workflows, tools, and decision-making processes. Additionally, the consultant will design and deliver targeted trainings and workshops to strengthen staff capacity on gender-sensitive and gender-responsive approaches, and provide ongoing advisory support to teams. They will develop a practical implementation framework translating the Gender Strategy into actionable activities, including project log frames aligned with institutional priorities and relevant funding frameworks. The consultant will review institutional communication materials and provide recommendations to ensure they are gender-inclusive, accessible, and sensitive. They will propose indicators, monitoring tools, and accountability mechanisms to track progress in the implementation of the Gender Strategy. Furthermore, the consultant will develop practical tools, checklists, and guidance documents to support gender-responsive programming and operations across the institution, ensuring that all work reflects the voices and lived experiences of victims, survivors, and families from diverse gender backgrounds. Finally, the consultant will facilitate briefings, coordination meetings, and validation sessions with staff and leadership to ensure ownership and coherence in implementation.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires an advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Public Policy, International Development, or a related discipline. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in one of the above fields with two years of additional relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in gender mainstreaming, gender analysis, and institutional gender strategy development and implementation is required. Additionally, experience facilitating capacity-building workshops or training sessions tailored to diverse teams and institutional needs is essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in relevant fields such as Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Public Policy, International Development, or a related discipline. In cases where candidates hold a first-level university degree, they must have two additional years of relevant professional experience to qualify for the position.

Experience:
The consultant must have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience specifically in gender mainstreaming, gender analysis, and the development and implementation of institutional gender strategies. This experience should include facilitating capacity-building workshops or training sessions that are tailored to meet the diverse needs of teams within an institution.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and engagement with stakeholders, particularly in the context of gender-responsive programming and support for victims, survivors, and families.

The consultancy is expected to be home-based and will last for a duration of 6 months.
