Job Overview: In this role, you will be a core member of the WordPress Infrastructure team at CERN, responsible for hosting multiple public-facing websites, including the highly visible home.cern. Your contributions will be vital in the continuous improvement of the infrastructure and in supporting the websites hosted on that infrastructure. You will engage with website owners and developers, participate in user support activities, and actively contribute to the internal WordPress community. Your role will also involve improving monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure high availability and performance, as well as contributing to the global evolution of web hosting infrastructure beyond WordPress. Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain WordPress infrastructure components and tools for service delivery automation.
Provide support to WordPress website owners and developers, participating in user support activities.
Engage actively in the internal WordPress community and assist stakeholders.
Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure high availability and performance of hosted websites.
Contribute to the global evolution of web hosting infrastructure beyond WordPress.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify challenges and drive innovative solutions.
Maintain strong communication with users to gather feedback and continuously improve services.
Utilize Linux and Bash scripting for automation tasks.
Program in GoLang and Python, with PHP knowledge being a plus. 1

Work with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and OpenShift. 1
Experience with version control systems and CI/CD workflows.
Familiarity with container deployment and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
Previous experience managing CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal, WordPress, Joomla) or other PHP-based software is desirable.
Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, InfluxDB, Grafana) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive mindset.
Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

Educational Background: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software or Computer Engineering or a related field. Experience: Candidates should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation.
