Job Overview:
The Monitoring and Evaluation and Data Analyst TB Officer position is crucial for the effective management of tuberculosis (TB) control programs in Fiji. The successful candidate will be stationed at the Twomey Hospital in Tamavua and will work under the supervision of the National TB Control Officer (NTBCO) and the Technical Officer for HIV, Hepatitis, STIs - Pacific Health security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security and Communicable Diseases. The role involves providing technical and administrative support for monitoring and evaluating TB control initiatives, ensuring that data collection methods are implemented effectively, and that the information gathered is reliable and relevant for decision-making. The officer will also contribute to the development of reports and assessments that inform stakeholders about the progress and results of TB programs, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of public health interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: supporting the implementation of data collection methods, verifying data accuracy, and improving the understanding of cross-cutting issues related to TB and HIV. They will provide key inputs for quarterly and annual reports, perform data entry and quality assurance in relevant information management systems, and collaborate with stakeholders to manage and communicate qualitative and quantitative data. The officer will also manage designated data collection and verification activities, assist in reviewing work plans, and ensure the full implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans. Additional duties may be assigned by the NTBCO and the WHO Representative as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Public Health, health sciences, Project Management, or a related field. An advanced degree (Master’s) in a relevant discipline is desirable. Essential qualifications include at least 2 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, data management, and analysis, or a similar role in public health. Proficiency in data management software such as Excel and statistical software like SPSS, R, or STATA is required. A demonstrated track record in developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks and reports is also desirable.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Public Health, health sciences, or Project Management. An advanced degree (Master’s) in these areas is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, data management, and analysis, particularly within the context of public health initiatives. Experience in working with TB programs or similar public health projects is highly desirable, as it demonstrates familiarity with the specific challenges and requirements of TB control efforts.

Languages:
Fluency in the English language is essential for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with stakeholders. Additionally, fluency in the iTaukei language is considered an asset, as it may facilitate better communication with local populations and enhance community engagement efforts.

Additional Notes:
The salary for this role will range from FJD 32,999.24 to FJD 53,034.50, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. The initial duration of the contract is 7 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. This position is subject to local recruitment and is intended for Fiji nationals residing in the local commuting area of the duty station.
