Job Overview:
The position of Procurement Support Services is crucial for the effective functioning of FAO programs and projects in Namibia. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the FAO Representative and the FAOR, providing essential procurement support services. This role involves ensuring that all procurement actions comply with FAO's established rules, regulations, and internal procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for routine administrative and operational support to procurement activities, which is vital for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of FAO's operations in the country. The role requires a proactive approach to procurement processes, including market research, vendor sourcing, and maintaining accurate procurement records.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Procurement Support Services position include: supporting the preparation and processing of procurement actions for goods, services, and works; preparing and issuing solicitation documents such as Request for Quotation (RFQ), Invitation to Bid (ITB), and Request for Proposals (RFP); conducting market research and vendor sourcing; organizing and participating in local tender opening panels; maintaining accurate procurement records and filing systems; following up with suppliers on delivery timelines; assisting in the preparation and monitoring of Procurement Plans; ensuring timely data entry in corporate systems; attending Tender Opening Panels; undertaking commercial and financial evaluations of offers; liaising with program, finance, and logistics teams; and supporting audit requests to ensure compliance with procurement documentation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or administration is required, preferably within the UN system or an international organization. A working knowledge of English is also mandatory, as it is essential for communication and documentation purposes.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the principles and practices of procurement and supply chain management, which are essential for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in procurement, logistics, or administration. This experience should ideally be gained within the UN system or an international organization, as it provides the necessary context and understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of working in such environments.

Languages:
