Job Overview:
The Client Engagement Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the mobilization and placement of UN Volunteers within UN Agencies, Funds, and Programs, focusing on peace, development, and humanitarian assistance. Reporting to the Country Coordinator and under the guidance of the Regional Manager, the assistant is responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with UN agencies and host entities. This includes managing relationships with priority partners, ensuring client satisfaction, and facilitating the delivery of volunteer services. The role requires regular interaction with UN personnel at all levels and emphasizes collaboration across multiple units and functions within UNV. The assistant will also contribute to the strategic mobilization of volunteers by gathering and analyzing data, preparing presentations, and supporting advocacy efforts to raise awareness about volunteerism.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in mobilizing volunteers and developing partnerships: Manage key accounts of assigned partnerships, maintain relationships with UN partners, identify volunteer placement opportunities, prepare assignment descriptions, develop initiatives responding to partner needs, organize advocacy campaigns, and document knowledge in UNV's Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Contribute to business intelligence: Collect and analyze data on UN Cooperation Frameworks, record volunteer mobilization opportunities in CRM, prepare presentations for potential partners, and communicate positive volunteer stories.
  • Ensure a positive volunteer experience: Support onboarding processes, provide assistance throughout the volunteer management cycle, gather feedback from volunteers, and organize appreciation initiatives.
  • Support duty of care for UN Volunteers: Liaise with security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security focal points, provide support during medical evacuations, assist non-official language speakers, and inform host entities about health and wellbeing support for volunteers. The incumbent may also perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. They should demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism and the values of the UN, including integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity. The role requires proficiency in using CRM systems and other digital tools for data management and communication. Additionally, candidates should exhibit problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to relationship management.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees are preferred and may be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the UN system and the principles of volunteerism.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of relevant experience in partnership development, volunteer management, or a related field is required. Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successfully managing relationships and mobilizing resources for development initiatives.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Venezuela. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it facilitates communication with international partners and stakeholders. Knowledge of other UN official languages would be advantageous.

Additional Notes:
This position is a full-time role with a monthly allowance of USD 1299, along with a pre-assignment stipend and a final assignment stipend upon contract completion, subject to conditions. Volunteers will receive medical, dental, and life insurance, as well as annual leave calculated at 2.5 days per month. Access to a learning platform is also provided. The position is based in Venezuela, and candidates should be prepared to engage with local communities and stakeholders.
