Job Overview: The Data Analyst position is integral to a project focused on sustaining a time series of purchasing power parities and other real indicators. This role involves compiling and cleaning datasets, generating diagnostic reports, and assisting in the organization of workshops. The project aims to enhance monitoring of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and develop national capacities in price statistics and data treatment. The Data Analyst will work on updating a comprehensive PPP database and creating innovative tools for users to analyze and utilize developed indicators effectively. The position requires a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote and on-site work, and is expected to last for six months.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: assisting in compiling, processing, and manipulating datasets from diverse sources; constructing price indices; conducting hands-on training on HCPI and CPI compilation templates; ensuring the accuracy and validity of statistical materials; assisting in research and drafting reports and presentations; providing administrative support for regional workshops and training sessions; conducting research and performing ad-hoc tasks related to the project; and executing other duties as assigned. These responsibilities are crucial for the successful implementation of the project and the delivery of reliable data for economic analysis.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a master's degree in Statistics, Economics, or a related field. A minimum of three years of professional experience in data analysis, research, and technical report drafting is required. Previous experience with the International Comparison Program (ICP), Consumer Price Index (CPI), and Harmonized Consumer Price Index (HCPI) is essential. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of macroeconomics and extensive experience in data analysis and research.
Educational Background: A master's degree in Statistics, Economics, or a related area is mandatory for this position.
