Job Overview: The position of Driver at the WHO Country Office involves driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel, goods, and supplies, while ensuring the maintenance of these vehicles. Duties and Responsibilities: The Driver will be responsible for the following duties:
Drive office vehicles for the transport of the Head of Country Office, staff, and other authorized personnel in connection with their official duties.
Ensure the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned office vehicle, including checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, and performing minor repairs.
Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, and other vehicle-related records.
Facilitate immigration and customs formalities for official personnel at the airport.
Provide logistical assistance to staff and international visitors, including visa arrangements, air tickets, hotel accommodations, and transportation.
Deliver and collect mail, documents, and other items as required.
Process customs clearance of goods and liaise with customs authorities.
Assist with office maintenance, including printing, scanning, and photocopying documents.
Respond to routine telephone calls and assist with office logistics. 1
Ensure the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of the office vehicle and its contents when left unattended. 1
Adhere to all driving regulations and safety requirements, and report any accidents or incidents as per WHO guidelines. 1
Perform other related duties as required to support the Country Office operations.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, as well as chauffeur courtesies.
Skills in minor vehicle repair and maintenance.
Proficiency in using PC software technologies, photocopiers, and printers.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
A commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes:
Equivalent to secondary education.
A valid driver's license is essential for this role.
Experience: Candidates must have at least four years of work experience as a driver, with a proven safe driving record. Experience in providing logistical support and familiarity with the local area will be advantageous.
Languages: The mandatory language requirements for this position include:
English: Ability to read and understand a variety of written materials, prepare internal notes, and communicate effectively with official visitors.
Azerbaijani: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking to communicate with local personnel and authorities. Desirable languages include Russian, German, and French, which would be considered an asset for this role.
