Job Overview: The IT Intern position at Save the Children is designed for an enthusiastic individual who is eager to contribute to the organization's Modern Workplace initiatives. Reporting directly to the Head of IT, the intern will be responsible for documenting IT processes, managing IT assets, and implementing workplace modernization practices. This role is crucial in ensuring that IT policies and procedures are not only accessible but also aligned with the overarching goals of the organization. The intern will engage with various departments to understand their needs and help develop content that enhances the use of systems deployed within Save the Children. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the IT Intern include, but are not limited to:
Providing support to users seeking information regarding IT practices within the organization, ensuring that the knowledge base is comprehensive and accessible.
Developing content that promotes better utilization of systems deployed within Save the Children.
Collaborating with different departments to gather use-cases for deploying modern workplace practices, including the integration of AI, to enhance user experience while maintaining security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and efficiency.
Assisting in the documentation of IT processes to ensure clarity and compliance with organizational standards.
Engaging in workplace modernization initiatives that align with Save the Children's goals and objectives.
Contributing to the overall improvement of IT services and user satisfaction through proactive support and communication.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person who has been granted refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment.
Possess a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Be a post-secondary student returning to school in the Fall. Note that international students are not eligible for this position as the Canada Summer Jobs program aims to support youth entering the Canadian labor market.
Educational Background: Candidates should be currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related program. This educational background is essential to ensure that the intern possesses the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the role and contribute effectively to the IT team.
Experience: While specific prior experience is not mandatory, familiarity with IT practices and a strong interest in modern workplace technologies will be beneficial. The intern should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, as excellent communication skills are essential for this role. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if it enhances the intern's ability to communicate with diverse audiences within the organization.
