Job Overview: The Programme Analyst, SRHR plays a crucial role in providing technical leadership for UNFPA’s initiatives related to sexual and reproductive health and rights, family planning, and reproductive health commodity security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security. This position is vital for accelerating the achievement of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) Programme of Action and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the province. The analyst will engage in policy advocacy, provide technical assistance, and manage UNFPA supplies program activities. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including government bodies and civil society organizations, to ensure effective implementation of reproductive health programs and to strengthen health systems. The analyst will be based in the UNFPA Provincial Office and will work under the guidance of the SRHR Specialist and the Provincial Head of Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate high-level policy dialogue with government, civil society, and academic institutions to promote SRHR/FP/RHCS at provincial and local levels.
Identify policy gaps and support the inclusion of SRHR in local policies and strategies.
Provide technical support for the development and implementation of SRHR policies and programs.
Establish and strengthen alliances with civil society to influence policy agendas.
Engage in humanitarian response interventions to address the needs of women and girls during emergencies.
Develop collaborative relationships with government counterparts and key partners to advance SRHR initiatives.
Advocate for increased budgetary allocations for SRH and RHCS at provincial and local levels.
Manage the SRHR program, ensuring effective delivery and quality assurance.
Monitor the availability of family planning commodities and provide technical assistance for their distribution. 1
Document lessons learned and best practices related to SRHR initiatives.
Experience in coordination with government, NGOs, UN agencies, and development partners.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in fields such as Public Health, Health Economics, Medicine, or Health Sciences. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of sexual and reproductive health issues and for effectively contributing to policy development and program implementation.
Experience: The position requires at least two years of relevant clinical experience in public health, particularly in low-resource settings. Candidates should have practical experience in emergency health sectors and maternal health issues, as well as experience in managing family planning programs and logistics systems. Familiarity with UN programming and operations is also essential.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Nepali is mandatory for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of another UN language or a local language would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and communities.
