Job Overview:
The position of Consultor/a en Formulación de Planes de Negocio involves providing specialized technical assistance to productive organizations within the framework of the project 'Compartiendo la Mesa', which aims to reduce malnutrition by integrating family farming into public procurement markets. The consultant will work closely with local organizations to enhance their technical, administrative, and business capabilities, enabling them to formulate sustainable and competitive business plans. This role is crucial in increasing these organizations' access to competitive funds and improving their chances of successful applications. The consultant will be responsible for evaluating potential organizations, managing necessary documentation for fund applications, and conducting workshops to diagnose and develop business plans tailored to local food chains, particularly those led by women. The overarching goal is to strengthen the value chain and competitiveness of productive associations in Ayacucho, thereby contributing to the broader objectives of security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and sustainable development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including:
  • Evaluating organizations identified by the WFP Ayacucho Sub-Office to determine their eligibility for fund applications, prioritizing those linked to local food chains and led by women.
  • Managing all necessary documentation for successful fund applications, including modifications to economic activities and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Organizing both physical and digital documentation to meet eligibility criteria for public calls.
  • Providing ongoing technical support to eligible organizations in collaboration with local governments and project teams.
  • Conducting at least one in-person workshop for each organization to apply appropriate methodologies for productive and business diagnostics, which will serve as a foundation for business plan formulation.
  • Developing five business plans aligned with prioritized productive chains (such as vegetables, tubers, dairy products, flours, and flakes) in accordance with Procompite and Agroideas funding criteria, incorporating safety, sustainability, and nutritional considerations.
  • Validating business plans with the organizations and the technical team of the WFP Ayacucho Sub-Office.
  • Supporting the process until all observations regarding the applications are addressed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a professional background in social sciences, agronomy, economics, public management, or related fields. Additionally, a minimum of four years of experience in providing technical assistance to productive organizations is required. Proven experience in securing competitive funds such as Procompite and Agroideas is essential, along with a track record of collaborative work with local governments and social programs. Candidates should also have demonstrated experience in formulating business plans, managing documentation, and strengthening the organizational capacity of productive entities. A sensitivity to gender issues and cultural diversity is crucial for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a professional degree in fields such as social sciences, agronomy, economics, public management, or other relevant disciplines. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of agricultural and economic development, as well as the social dynamics at play in the context of food security and nutrition.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of four years of relevant experience, particularly in providing technical assistance to productive organizations. Languages:
While proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, knowledge of Quechua is highly desirable. This position is offered under a Special Service Agreement (L4) contract type, with a duration of six months.
