Job Overview: The primary purpose of this position is to support the communication processes of child sponsorship, connecting children, adolescents, families, and communities with their sponsors. This role is crucial for fulfilling the Sponsorship Promise within the framework of children's rights, particularly focusing on girls. The coordinator will be responsible for managing both programmable and non-programmable sponsorship communications, ensuring that all activities align with the established production calendar. The position requires collaboration with community links and volunteers to enhance the effectiveness of sponsorship communications and to ensure that the rights of children are upheld throughout the process.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Coordinator of Sponsorship Communications include managing the production of sponsorship communications according to the established schedule, training volunteers and community leaders on sponsorship policies and child safeguarding standards, and conducting community assemblies to promote accountability and family engagement in Plan's projects. The coordinator will ensure the timely and quality production of sponsorship documents, report on cases of sponsored children who are not attending school or facing health issues, and support family visits by sponsors and donors. Additionally, the coordinator will facilitate visits to sponsored children at least once a year and coordinate with the lead facilitator for cases where children do not wish to continue participating in sponsorship. The role also involves supporting programmatic actions such as scholarship projects and reporting any child protection concerns to the relevant focal points.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in community organization and development processes related to sponsorship. Experience working with children and youth in community settings is essential. Candidates should possess basic knowledge of planning, implementing, and evaluating social development programs and projects, as well as an understanding of human rights, particularly children's rights. Specific skills required for the position include proficiency in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet), a valid driver's license, and the ability to organize groups and utilize interactive techniques that promote parental involvement in sponsorship activities.
Educational Background: A minimum of two years of studies in Social Sciences, Sociology, Economics, Education, or another relevant field is required for this position. Experience: The position requires at least one year of relevant experience in community organization and development, particularly in processes related to child sponsorship. Experience working directly with children, adolescents, and families in community settings is highly valued.
