Job Overview:
The position of Voluntario en Cambio Social y Rendición de Cuentas a Poblaciones Afectadas (AAP) involves supporting the implementation and monitoring of social behavior change strategies and accountability principles in communities. The volunteer will work under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Field Office and in technical coordination with SBC and AAP officers at the central level. The role is crucial for enhancing community participation and empowerment, particularly among vulnerable populations, and ensuring that their voices are integrated into program planning and execution. The volunteer will be responsible for adapting SBC strategies to local realities, developing action plans, coordinating logistics for activities, and facilitating training sessions. This position is integral to UNICEF's Country Program for 2023-2026, aiming to strengthen community capacities and promote positive social behaviors among children, families, and community leaders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The volunteer will support the implementation of SBC strategies by developing local action plans, coordinating SBC and AAP activities, adjusting methodologies to local contexts, producing educational materials, and facilitating community dialogues. Responsibilities also include conducting training sessions for field officers, promoting experience sharing among field offices, and ensuring the integration of AAP principles in all program stages. The volunteer will contribute to evidence generation, knowledge management, and the documentation of best practices, while also supporting the inter-agency feedback mechanisms and ensuring community concerns are addressed in program planning.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams, and a commitment to UNICEF's mission and principles. They should demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and flexibility in their approach to work. Experience in community engagement, social behavior change, or humanitarian work is highly desirable. The ability to adapt strategies to local contexts and engage with vulnerable populations is essential.

Educational Background:
A degree in social sciences, public health, international development, or a related field is required. Additional training or certifications in community engagement, social behavior change, or humanitarian response will be considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in community development, social behavior change, or humanitarian work. Experience working with children and vulnerable populations, as well as familiarity with UNICEF's principles and programs, is highly advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, and proficiency in English is desirable. Knowledge of local languages or dialects would be an asset, enhancing communication with community members.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position based in Maracaibo, Venezuela, with a monthly allowance of 1299 USD. The contract includes a pre-assignment allowance, a final assignment allowance upon completion of the contract, and comprehensive medical, dental, and life insurance.
