Job Overview:
The Business Process Support Officer will join the Product Management team within the Business Computing group, focusing on software solutions in HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and Site Management. The primary responsibility will be to prepare and implement the organization's ERP transformation, which encompasses Finance, Procurement, and Logistics processes. This project will unfold in two phases: a preparation phase scheduled until March 2027, followed by an implementation phase from 2027 to 202
  • The goal is to enhance organizational maturity before the ERP implementation by conducting structured analyses and facilitating collaboration among business stakeholders, internal development teams, and the future Implementation Service Provider (ISP). The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong analytical mindset to gather and interpret data for actionable insights.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Business Process Support Officer will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders and internal development teams to gather and prioritize business requirements. This includes drawing and analyzing business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization. The officer will conduct gap analyses between current custom developments and standard market ERP processes, develop and maintain business process documentation using BPMN and other business process modeling tools, and support workshops with business stakeholders to consolidate analysis outputs for implementation. Additionally, the officer will assist in testing and validation phases, including user acceptance testing, and monitor and report on key performance indicators to track progress towards organizational goals.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a strong academic background in business analysis, information systems, business process modeling, or a related field. Experience with analytical work, process documentation, data analysis, or requirements gathering is essential. An interest in large-scale system transformation projects and complex organizational environments is expected. Knowledge of enterprise systems, particularly ERP, procurement, finance, or logistics systems, is advantageous. Familiarity with UX principles and methodologies would also be beneficial. Strong understanding of business modeling concepts and the ability to translate requirements into practical solutions are crucial for this role.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State and to possess a professional background in Software Engineering, Business Analysis, or a related field. Candidates should have either a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience. It is important that candidates have not previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in business analysis or related fields. Those with a PhD should have up to 3 years of experience. Experience in large-scale system transformation projects and familiarity with complex organizational environments will be highly regarded.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory, and candidates should demonstrate a commitment to learning French. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

The contract duration for this position is 24 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of 36 months. The working hours are set at 40 hours per week, and the position is fully onsite. The target start date for this role is August 1, 202
  • The job reference is FAP-BC-PM-2026-74-GRAP. The compensation includes a monthly stipend ranging from 6372 to 7004 Swiss Francs (tax-free), 30 days of paid leave per year plus 2 weeks of annual closure, comprehensive health insurance coverage, family allowances, and a relocation package depending on individual circumstances. On-the-job and formal training, including language classes, will also be provided.
