Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program contributes to peace and development in the world through volunteerism. Established to promote the value and recognition of volunteerism globally, UNV works with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated, and well-supported UN Volunteers into development programs. The UNV program operates in approximately 130 countries each year and has a presence on the ground in over 80 countries, making it a globally represented initiative. The program is administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Job Overview:
This position is aimed at strengthening the Talent Acquisition strategies of the UNV Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. The focus is on expanding and diversifying talent sources for territorial and community-focused assignments in Bolivia. The role is crucial in promoting more inclusive recruitment processes that are culturally relevant and respectful of the linguistic and sociocultural diversity of the country. In rural territories of Bolivia, particularly in regions with significant indigenous populations, access to job opportunities can be limited when dissemination occurs solely through conventional channels. Therefore, understanding local communication dynamics, social organization, and access to information is essential. The selected individual will conduct a territorial mapping of networks, organizations, and local dissemination channels in Bolivia, emphasizing areas like Potosí, Asunta, and Villamontes, to enhance access to community talent and improve culturally pertinent dissemination of opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of this position include supporting the Talent Acquisition team in identifying and analyzing local ecosystems of community talent in Bolivia, especially in rural areas and territories with indigenous populations. The selected candidate will map relevant actors, organizations, and institutions, including community organizations, youth networks, representative structures of indigenous peoples, NGOs, technical institutions, municipalities, community radios, digital communities, and active social networks in prioritized territories. The work will focus on identifying spaces where community talent is concentrated, including individuals with knowledge of the territory, experience in community processes, and proficiency in indigenous languages such as Quechua, Aymara, or other predominant languages in various territories of Bolivia. Additionally, the assigned person will contribute to identifying and systematizing accessible, inclusive, and culturally relevant dissemination channels, such as community radios, territorial networks, local organizations, and community communication spaces that can facilitate more effective dissemination of opportunities in rural contexts. This work will help expand the pool of eligible talent for territorial and community assignments, strengthening equitable access to opportunities and contributing to reducing the risks of assignment cancellations due to limitations in identifying suitable candidates in the territories.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, cultural sensitivity, and an understanding of community dynamics in rural Bolivia. They should be able to work collaboratively with diverse groups and have experience in community engagement and outreach. Proficiency in mapping and data collection techniques is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A background in social sciences, community development, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with experience in volunteerism or community service will be given priority. A strong understanding of the socio-cultural context of Bolivia, particularly regarding indigenous communities, is highly desirable.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience working in community settings, particularly in rural areas or with indigenous populations. Experience in talent acquisition, recruitment processes, or community organizing will be advantageous. Familiarity with local organizations and networks in Bolivia is a plus.

Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory. Knowledge of indigenous languages such as Quechua or Aymara is highly desirable and will be considered an asset. Understanding of English may also be beneficial but is not required.

Additional Notes:
This position is a volunteer role, and the duration of the assignment is not specified. It is expected to be a full-time commitment, and candidates may be recruited nationally or internationally. Compensation details are not provided, but volunteers may receive benefits such as training and development opportunities.
