Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program contributes to peace and development globally through volunteerism. Established to integrate qualified, highly motivated, and well-supported UN Volunteers into development programs, the UNV program promotes the value and global recognition of volunteerism. Active in approximately 130 countries each year, the UNV program has a presence on the ground in over 80 countries and is represented worldwide. It is administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Job Overview:
The position aims to strengthen the Talent Acquisition strategies of the UNV Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean by broadening and diversifying talent sources for specialized technical profiles in IT, Data, and Web development. These profiles are crucial for supporting initiatives related to digital innovation, data management, information analysis, and the development of technological solutions within the UN ecosystem and its partners. The volunteer will be tasked with conducting a comprehensive mapping of the technological talent ecosystem in Brazil, identifying strategic sources that can enhance sourcing and attraction strategies for IT/Data and Web profiles. This role is essential in understanding the technological ecosystems and professional communities where these profiles are typically found, particularly in Brazil, where IT/Data talent is concentrated in various spaces such as universities, technology training programs, innovation hubs, and specialized digital communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The volunteer will support the Talent Acquisition team by identifying and analyzing the IT/Data and Web talent ecosystem in Brazil. Responsibilities include conducting structured mapping of relevant actors, institutions, and technology communities, which encompasses universities, tech bootcamps, innovation hubs, professional associations, NGOs, and digital technical communities. The volunteer will also identify active digital communities where technology talent congregates, including professional and collaborative platforms such as LinkedIn, GitHub, Slack, Discord, and other relevant technology sector communities. This mapping will help the Talent Acquisition team enhance their search and attraction of eligible candidates in the IT, Data, and Web development areas, thereby contributing to the overall mission of the UNV program.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a strong understanding of the technological landscape, particularly in relation to IT, Data, and Web development. They should have experience in talent acquisition or human resources, particularly in mapping and analyzing talent ecosystems. Familiarity with digital communities and platforms relevant to technology is essential. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders are also required.

Educational Background:
A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications in talent acquisition or human resources management would be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in talent acquisition, human resources, or a related field, with a focus on technology sectors. Experience in conducting market research or ecosystem mapping is highly desirable. Familiarity with the Brazilian technology landscape and its educational institutions will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory. Knowledge of Portuguese is highly desirable, given the focus on Brazil.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position, and the duration of the contract is typically flexible, depending on the needs of the UNV Regional Office. The role may involve remote work, but candidates should be prepared to engage with local communities and stakeholders in Brazil. The position is part-time, allowing for flexibility in hours worked.
