Job Overview:
The Project Field Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the 'Rebuilding Agricultural Livelihoods affected by Multiple Cyclones in Cagayan Province' project. This position involves providing administrative, logistical, and technical support to ensure the successful execution of field activities aimed at achieving the project's objectives. The Project Field Assistant will assist in planning and coordinating training sessions, workshops, and meetings with various stakeholders, including farmers, fisherfolk, and government representatives. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with local government units and community leaders to facilitate project interventions such as cash-based support and beneficiary grants. The Project Field Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining project databases, preparing training materials, and assisting in monitoring and evaluation activities, ensuring that the project meets its goals and contributes to the recovery and resilience of affected communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Field Assistant include:
  • Assisting in the planning, coordination, organization, and logistics of training sessions, workshops, and consultation meetings with farmers, fisherfolk, and government stakeholders.
  • Supporting the facilitation and monitoring of key project interventions, including cash-based support and beneficiary grants, through coordination with local government units and regular field visits.
  • Providing logistical support for monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Maintaining regular communication with local government units, community leaders, and partner organizations.
  • Helping prepare letters, training materials, presentations, handouts, and practical exercises.
  • Assisting resource speakers in delivering training sessions, organizing break-out groups, facilitating discussions, and conducting practical demonstrations.
  • Maintaining a database of project beneficiaries, training participants, materials, and outcomes for reporting and knowledge management.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Social Science, Community Development, Public Administration, Agriculture, Rural Development, or related fields. Additionally, candidates should have at least three years of relevant field experience in emergency response and recovery operations, disaster risk reduction, and agriculture and fisheries support initiatives. Full proficiency in English is required, and candidates must be nationals of the Philippines.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Social Science, Community Development, Public Administration, Agriculture, or Rural Development. Candidates must have obtained their qualifications from institutions accredited or recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant field experience, particularly in emergency response and recovery operations, disaster risk reduction, and initiatives supporting agriculture and fisheries. This experience is essential for effectively contributing to the project's objectives and ensuring successful implementation.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with full working knowledge required. Additionally, excellent written and oral communication skills in Tagalog are necessary. The ability to communicate in the Ilocano dialect is considered an advantage, enhancing the Project Field Assistant's effectiveness in engaging with local communities.
