Job Overview: The Data Management Officer position within the Resource Mobilization Division is crucial for enhancing FAO’s strategies in resource mobilization. The incumbent will work closely with the Data Management Officer and the Head of Marketing, Outreach and Reporting Unit to develop and implement integrated data management and analytics tools. This role involves advising on forecasting methodologies for voluntary contributions, conducting reviews of current reporting systems, and recommending automation strategies for pipeline management. The officer will also be responsible for preparing consultative reports on global funding trends and providing strategic background information for senior management. The position requires a strong focus on market positioning and business intelligence services in the fields of security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and agricultural development, ensuring that FAO remains competitive and visible to resource partners.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will undertake a variety of tasks under the supervision of the Head of Marketing, including: advising on the design and implementation of data management tools; providing guidance on forecasting methodologies; developing recommendations for improving visibility and engagement with resource partners; conducting reviews of reporting systems and proposing enhancements; recommending automation strategies for pipeline management; liaising with the CSI CRM team; creating a dedicated module within the CRM system for resource mobilization; preparing consultative reports on funding trends; recommending innovative approaches for data visualization; arranging intelligence briefs and presentations; designing and providing trainings on new tools; facilitating knowledge-sharing sessions; and performing any other advisory tasks as requested by the Director of PSR.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Those with a bachelor's degree must have two additional years of relevant professional experience. The position requires at least one year of relevant experience for Category C, five years for Category B, and twelve years for Category A. Full proficiency or working knowledge of English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian is essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Engineering, or Information Technology. Candidates with a bachelor's degree must have additional professional experience to qualify. The degree must be from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO, ensuring that the educational qualifications meet international standards.
