Job Overview:
The Evaluation Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) by providing organizational, administrative, logistical, and financial support services. This position requires mastery of relevant administrative rules, guidelines, and processes, as well as the application of established systems and procedures. The Evaluation Associate will assist in evaluation and research activities, demonstrating a strong client and result orientation in service of the IEO. Reporting directly to the Director, the Evaluation Associate will help maintain and update systems, processes, and tools to facilitate the IEO's work while ensuring compliance with UNFPA policies and procedures. The role is integral to the successful execution of evaluations and other evaluative exercises, contributing to the overall mission of UNFPA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Evaluation Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: A. General Administrative Services and Procurement: Leading administrative functions for the IEO, managing travel processes, implementing corporate systems for finance and administration, organizing onboarding for new staff, and supporting security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-related administrative tasks. B. Financial Management: Providing budget administration services, supporting the annual budgeting process, maintaining financial records, processing financial transactions, and proposing improvements to internal controls. C. Support for Evaluation and Research Activities: Researching and systemizing information for evaluations, scheduling interviews, and providing logistical support for evaluation missions. D. Support for Communication and Knowledge Management: Organizing training activities, maintaining the IEO library, and supporting other communications activities as needed. The Evaluation Associate may also perform any other related administrative duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education, with additional training in finance, procurement, administration, and management. A first-level university degree in business administration, public administration, or social sciences is desirable. The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in administration and/or finance and budget management, with proven experience in managing and implementing administrative and financial policies. Familiarity with UN procurement and financial procedures is desirable, along with strong analytical skills and proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent writing and communication skills are essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes completion of secondary school education, with additional training in relevant fields such as finance, procurement, administration, and management. A first-level university degree in business administration, public administration, or social sciences is considered desirable, indicating a preference for candidates with a higher level of education in related disciplines.

Experience:
The Evaluation Associate should possess a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in administration and/or finance and budget management. This experience should include a proven track record in managing and implementing administrative and financial policies, processes, and systems. Familiarity with UN procurement and financial procedures is advantageous, as is hands-on experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, or SAP. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to analyze data and generate clear reports, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google workplace applications.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other official UN languages, particularly French and/or Spanish, is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's qualifications.
