Job Overview: The Driver at the G-2 level is responsible for providing reliable and safe driving services while ensuring compliance with local traffic rules and UNICEF protocols. This role requires the driver to demonstrate professionalism, discretion, integrity, adaptability, and protocol awareness. In addition to driving, the driver is expected to support administrative tasks and engage in self-directed learning during non-driving periods. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide safe and reliable driving services for UNICEF personnel and visitors.
Conduct routine vehicle care, maintenance, and readiness checks to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Utilize digital tools and tracking systems for trip documentation and reporting.
Maintain communication and readiness for emergencies while on duty.
Support office operations during idle periods by assisting with administrative tasks as needed.
Ensure compliance with local traffic regulations and UNICEF driving protocols.
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and discretion in all interactions.
Engage in continuous learning and development to enhance driving and operational skills.
Required Qualifications:
A secondary education is required.
A valid driver’s license and knowledge of local driving rules and regulations are mandatory.
Minimum two years of work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system with a safe driving record is required.
Good analytical and negotiating skills are essential.
Ability to manage resources effectively and work in a multicultural environment.
Fast learner with the ability to adapt to change and tolerate ambiguity.
Knowledge of the latest developments and technology in the driving and transportation sector is an asset.
Educational Background: The position requires a secondary education level, which provides the foundational knowledge necessary for the role. A valid driver’s license is also essential, along with a thorough understanding of local driving regulations and safety protocols.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience as a driver, preferably within an international organization, embassy, or UN system. A proven safe driving record is crucial, demonstrating the candidate's reliability and adherence to safety standards.
