Job Overview: The logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of efficient and effective logistics services and transactions. This includes quality assurance of work products and processes to ensure compliance with established procedures, guidelines, and policies. The officer will facilitate the sharing of best practices and continuous learning within the team, propose improvements for team performance, and prepare monthly inventory reports with analyses and recommendations for equipment replacement or purchase. The role also involves supporting customs clearance, transportation, storage, and distribution of supplies to affected areas, ensuring proper documentation for donations to government agencies and stakeholders. The officer will share technical knowledge on logistics matters, support compliance with procedures, and manage the delivery of standard transactions and services aligned with business plans.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will perform a variety of duties including coordinating logistics services, quality assurance of work products, facilitating best practices, preparing inventory reports, supporting customs clearance and distribution of supplies, managing documentation for donations, and conducting training in logistics for clients and staff. The officer will also undertake delegated certifications and approvals, manage processes and transactions, and identify improved service line processes for optimal client service. Additionally, the officer will be responsible for administration of inventory and organizational assets, and ensuring compliance with WHO regulations and procedures.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary school, supplemented by training in fields such as supply/logistics, procurement, supply planning, transportation, warehousing, and logistics information systems. A university degree in business administration, engineering, logistics management, or a related field is desirable. WHO considers only higher educational qualifications from accredited institutions recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
Educational Background: Essential educational qualifications include completion of secondary school with additional training in logistics or related fields. A desirable qualification is a university degree in business administration, engineering, or logistics management. Candidates must ensure their educational qualifications are recognized by the WHED.
Experience: Candidates should have at least eight years of relevant experience supporting supply/logistics operations. Experience in administrative support positions within WHO or another UN agency is desirable, as is familiarity with Oracle-based or other ERP systems.
Languages: Excellent knowledge of English is essential for this position. Knowledge of the local language is considered desirable, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and partners.
Additional Notes: This position offers an attractive remuneration package, including an annual net base salary starting at FJD 46,484, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance.
