Global Welfare Association (GLOWA) is a women-led grassroots organization based in the conflict-affected North West Region of Cameroon. Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer will play a crucial role in coordinating the redesign of GLOWA's website, which is essential for enhancing the organization's digital presence. This position involves leading a team of online contributors to ensure that the website redesign is executed efficiently and aligns with GLOWA’s mission and branding. The volunteer will be responsible for tracking deliverables, facilitating communication among team members, and ensuring quality checks are performed throughout the redesign process. This role is vital for improving GLOWA's visibility, sharing program achievements, and enhancing resource mobilization efforts for gender justice and community support initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the website redesign project by leading a team of online volunteers.
  • Ensure smooth collaboration among team members and timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Track deliverables and provide regular updates to GLOWA on the progress of the website redesign.
  • Facilitate effective communication among volunteers to address any challenges that arise during the project.
  • Conduct quality checks on the content and design elements to ensure they align with GLOWA’s mission and branding.
  • Serve as the main liaison between GLOWA and the volunteer team, ensuring that all parties are informed and engaged throughout the process.
  • Support GLOWA in enhancing its digital presence and visibility of its programs through the redesigned website.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage a team of online volunteers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate collaboration and updates.
  • Familiarity with website design principles and content management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving.
  • A commitment to GLOWA’s mission and values, particularly in relation to gender justice and human rights.

Educational Background:
A background in communications, digital media, web design, or a related field is preferred. Relevant coursework or certifications in website development or project management would be beneficial.

Experience:
Previous experience in project management, website design, or volunteer coordination is highly desirable. Familiarity with non-profit organizations and their operational needs can enhance the effectiveness of the volunteer in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in French is a plus, given the bilingual context of Cameroon. Knowledge of local languages may also be beneficial for community engagement.
