Job Overview:
The Sexual and Reproductive Health in Emergencies (SRHiE) Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing and assessing political, social, economic, and cultural trends that affect the delivery of UNFPA's sexual and reproductive health (SRH) programs in Region VIII (Eastern Visayas). This position requires the analyst to coordinate and facilitate the implementation of SRH initiatives, ensuring they align with the UNFPA Country Programme and respond effectively to the needs of vulnerable populations, particularly in humanitarian contexts. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including government counterparts, civil society organizations, and other UN agencies, to strengthen SRH services and ensure the continuity of life-saving services for women and girls. The role also involves monitoring and reporting on program results, advocating for quality SRH services, and building partnerships to enhance operational effectiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The SRHiE Analyst will be responsible for a range of duties including:
  • Programme Management and Coordination: Overseeing the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of SRH programs in Region VIII, ensuring alignment with UNFPA's strategic objectives and local priorities.
  • Technical Support and Capacity Building: Collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement SRH projects, providing technical guidance, and facilitating training sessions to enhance the capacity of local actors.
  • Partnerships, Advocacy, and Resource Mobilization: Developing and implementing advocacy strategies, representing UNFPA in coordination mechanisms, and liaising with various organizations to ensure coherent SRH interventions.
  • Management Responsibilities: Maintaining communication with the HDP Nexus Team Leader and contributing to the activities of SRH-related communities of practice.
  • Conducting assessments and analyzing data to inform program design and execution, ensuring integration of SRH services within health systems in both humanitarian and development settings.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in medicine, public health, international development, social sciences, or related fields. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with four years of relevant experience may be accepted. Additionally, candidates should have at least two years of professional experience in maternal health or sexual and reproductive health and rights, with a strong background in program/project management. Knowledge of sexual and reproductive health issues, particularly in emergency contexts, is essential, along with experience working with vulnerable communities and a commitment to UNFPA's mandate.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in medicine, public health, international development, social sciences, or related fields is required. A first-level university degree (Bachelor's) may be accepted if accompanied by four years of relevant experience.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of professional experience in maternal health or sexual and reproductive health and rights, particularly in program/project management. For those with a Bachelor's degree, at least four years of relevant experience is required. Field experience in emergency and post-conflict contexts is highly desirable, along with practical experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

Languages:
Proficiency in Filipino and English is required. Knowledge of local dialects in the Eastern Visayas Region is considered an asset, enhancing communication and engagement with local communities.
